A bad week

The Red Sox first blew the division lead, then they blew the wild card on the last game of the season.  The Atlanta Braves did pretty much the same thing in the National League.  Utah lost their football game.  So did Utah State (which meant that BYU won).  Then, the Jets lost to the Ravens on Sunday night.  I don't really like the Jets, but I hate the Ravens.  Really, I just hate Ray Lewis, and he plays for the Ravens, so the hate spreads to his teammates.

To top off the week, my wife lost her couponing binder.

Red Sox

Hey Boston fans. I think we're in big trouble.

That Old Trailer

I was cleaning off some of the grime and dirt from our "new" 4-year old camping trailer. It got me thinking how it has been 7+ years since we bought our first camping trailer from an ad in the Tribune. We had that first trailer for three years, and only a few major parts fell off in that time. When we sold it, I prayed that it would stay in one piece long enough to get it off our property.

During the those three years, we traveled to Idaho, The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and all over Utah. At first, things didn't fall off the trailer on every trip. But after a tire blew out on a short camping trip, the floodgates were open and the trailer began it's disintegration.

We were driving home from The Tetons when, in the middle of Nowhere Wyoming, we noticed all that was left of the 24-foot awning were the support posts. We turned around to find the awning in the middle of the road about a mile back. What do you do with a 24-foot aluminum awning roller that has torn itself free? We made a generous donation of scrap metal to the Wyoming Highway Department. I'm sure the recycling value covered at least 10% of their cost to remove it from the side of the road.

The following spring on a trip to Moab the electrical access panel fell off. It was there when we stopped in Price, and was gone when we reached Moab. Later that same evening the door fell off.

We bought a new camping trailer 4 years ago and sold the old one. In spite of it all, we loved that old trailer and it served us well.

Hopefully we didn't hurt its feelings when we did a little jig as its new owner towed it away.

I Need More Guns

The “No Soliciting” sign on the front door isn't working.
